Bishop Steven C. Briggs hails from Newburgh, New York, and is the son of the

late Reverend Walter W. Briggs and the late Reverend Lovestine Kirby-Briggs.

He graduated high school at Newburgh Free Academy. Steven attended

Newburgh Bible Institute and matriculated through their program. He would

later attend Bethel College in Hampton, Virginia, earning the Bachelor of

Science in Ministerial Leadership with a concentration in Christian Counseling.

Pastor Steven C. Briggs has taught theology both nationally and internationally

at Conferences, Conventions, Convocations, and Bible colleges. He has taught

and lectured at Kwame Nkrumah University while holding the attention of two-

hundred attendee pastors from the region surrounding Kumasi, West Africa.

He has ministered in the villages of Tema and Tamale, Ghana and the capital

city of Accra, Ghana. Also, the village school, Nyame Bekgere (Ny-am-may Bek-

chay) Christian School.

In July 2017, the General Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Paul Frimpong-Manso,

Ph.D., and the Executive Council of the Assemblies of God—Ghana, confirmed

Introduction to Discipleship. Pastor Briggs’ assignment was to write and teach

the Presbyters the course to become part of the Assemblies of God—Ghana’s Constitution and By-Laws. Pastor Briggs was involved in a severe motor vehicle

accident en route to the airport for departure to Ghana suffering sustained

injuries; he was unable to fulfill the assignment.

Bishop Steven C. Briggs has planted churches or sponsored missionaries in

Ghana, Tanzania, Nairobi, Kenya, (Kibera Slums), Mombasa, Kenya, Nacala,

Mozambique, Port Harcourt, Nigeria (Africa), Sau Paulo, Brazil, Channel to

Brazil for Christ, (South America) Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Jakarta,

Indonesia (Southeast Asia), Seoul, South Korea (Far East), Faisalabad,

Pakistan, Delhi, India, Christ for India, Baghdad, Iraq, Migdal Ohr, Israel

(Middle East). Bishop Steven C. Briggs has also ministered in Paris, France,

Cologne, Germany, Amsterdam Netherlands, London, England, (Europe), Hong

Kong—China, (Far East), and throughout the United States.

Majoring in missiology and discipleship, Bishop Steven C. Briggs has

conferenced with General Superintendents from Costa Rico, Guyana, and

missionaries from Jordan and the West Bank in Israel. Bishop Briggs was

approved a missionary in Ghana, W. Africa with the Ghana Assemblies of God

by the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, under the direction of

General Superintendent Rev. Dr. Paul Frimpong-Manso, Ph.D.

Bishop Steven C. Briggs has served as the Mission Chaplain of Global

Empowerment Network, an evangelistic team that travels globally ministering

in remote areas while canvassing the geographical 10/40 Window. In this

capacity, Bishop Steven C. Briggs has served under Bishop Dr. Clifton R.

Clarke, Ph.D., the Associate Dean at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena,

California.

On April 17, 2021, consecrated as Presiding Prelate of New Life Rhema

International Ministries, Inc., at Baptist Temple in Newburgh, New York,

Bishop Steven C. Briggs will endeavor to bring churches nationally and

internationally under the incorporation of New Life Rhema International

Ministries, Inc.
